After a long hiatus—keeping animals can easily become all-consuming activity—Herrleklären resumes with the publication of two new pieces on herrle.ca
“Re-Imagining athleticism” is the first post in a series intended to explore aging, health, ablebodiedness, and disability through the prism of Masters rowing. I actually posted this piece at the beginning of October and then forgot to tell anyone.
“There’s something rotten in the state of Denmark” is fresh off the presses, and reflects my growing, morbid obsession with the link between large scale animal farming and the emergence of new diseases.
Both of these pieces are linked in their exploration of what it means to be healthy in our Covid times. As I hope you, my dear readers, are keeping, as we enter a challenging winter.
P.S. Updates on the Academy’s many animal faculty are forthcoming, as well as a piece on some local beekeepers that has sorely tested my nascent videoediting skillset.
Some reading for a rainy day
Two really good articles!
